Strawberry Banana Cottage Cheese Smoothie

This smoothie is creamy, sweet, and full of protein, making it a great snack or breakfast on the go.
Cottage cheese makes it extra smooth and adds protein without making it taste like chalk.
Also, kids love it because it tastes like a milkshake.
Ingredients

- 1 cup of strawberries, either fresh or frozen
- 1 ripe banana (for natural sweetness)
- ½ cup of cottage cheese (adds creaminess and protein)
- ½ cup of milk (or more if you need it to blend)
- 1 tablespoon of honey (optional, for more sweetness)
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract (adds a sweet, warm flavor)
- ½ cup of ice (for a colder smoothie, use fresh fruit)
Equipment Needed
A blender, measuring cups, and spoons
Knife and board for cutting
Instructions
Step 1: Get the ingredients ready
Take the peel off the banana and cut it up. Take off the green tops of the strawberries.
Step 2: Put Everything in the Blender

Put the banana, strawberries, cottage cheese, milk, vanilla, and honey (if using) in the blender.
Step 3: Mix until smooth.
Mix on high for 30 to 45 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add more milk if it is too thick.
Step 4: Serve and have fun!
Pour the smoothie into a glass and add more fruit if you want. Enjoy right away.
Tips & Variations
- Use frozen fruit: If you use frozen strawberries, you won’t need ice, and the smoothie will be even thicker!
- Mix well. Cottage cheese can be a little grainy, so mix it for an extra 20 to 30 seconds to get the smoothest texture.
- Change the sweetness. If your banana is very ripe, you might not need any honey at all! Try it before you add it.
- Dairy-free options: Use Greek yogurt or a plant-based substitute instead of cottage cheese.
- Add extras: For extra nutrients, throw in some chia seeds, flaxseeds, or a handful of spinach.
- No cottage cheese? Use silken tofu or Greek yogurt.
- Want it extra thick? Add more ice or use less milk.
- More protein? Put in a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
- No dairy? Use yogurt and almond milk that don’t have dairy in them.
Storage & Freezing
You should eat it right away, but you can keep leftovers in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Before you drink, shake it well.
Put in ice cube trays and freeze. Then blend for a quick smoothie!
