Instructions

Searing chicken thighs in a skillet

  1. First, turn the oven on to 375F. After that, season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, and other spices.
  2. Now, heat the butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat, add the chicken thighs, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until both sides are golden brown. Then, put it on a plate and set it aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter to make the creamy chicken sauce. After it melts, add the garlic and cook for one minute, stirring a few times.
  4. Now, add the flour and stir for one minute. Next, slowly add the chicken broth and cook for one minute while stirring constantly, or until the sauce thickens. Add heavy whipping cream and stir it well. If you need to, add more salt or pepper and taste it again after adding the cheese.
  5. Lastly, put the chicken thighs back in the skillet and cover each one with the creamy sauce. Put in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, without covering, or until the chicken is done.

If you want, you can add dill and more cheese on top. Have fun!

Serving Suggestions and Tips

Creamy oven baked chicken thighs served with mashed potatoes and vegetables

Add some extra grated cheese and dill on top of the creamy oven-baked chicken thighs to make them look nice. Add some mashed potatoes, rice, and vegetables to your meal to make it complete!

Before putting on the seasoning, dry the chicken first. Getting rid of extra moisture will help the seasoning stick and give the food a nice sear.

Brown the chicken thighs in groups. If you put too many things in the skillet, they won’t cook evenly or make a nice crust that keeps the moisture in.

You can quickly make this sauce into a creamy garlic mushroom sauce by adding some sliced mushrooms. Yummy!

For a different taste, use white wine instead of broth. The alcohol will cook off, so this meal is still safe for kids.

It’s important to dry the chicken off before adding spices. This gets rid of extra moisture, which helps the seasoning stick better and gives the chicken a nice sear.

I like to use butter to sauté garlic and brown the chicken because it gives the food a lot of flavor. You can, however, use olive oil instead if you want.

It’s best to brown the chicken thighs in batches so that they cook evenly and get a nice crust that keeps the moisture in. If you put too many things in the skillet, the chicken might not cook evenly and the texture might change.
