Warm bowl of Crock Pot Beef Stew

This beef stew in a crock pot has big chunks of beef and vegetables that have been cooking all day in the best sauce.
It’s the best supper to make for your loved ones on a Sunday. I’ve been cooking this for a long time, and I love to serve it with our favorite rolls. It tastes very good! Everyone in my family loves this dish, including the kids. 🙂

Ingredients

Ingredients for Crock Pot Beef Stew

  • Two packages (1 ounce each) of dried onion soup mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 2 pounds of beef stew meat or a boneless beef roast sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • Five medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 2 to 3 cups of baby carrots
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced up
  • 2 cans (10 ounces each) of cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup of ketchupYou can use tomato sauce instead of ketchup if you don’t like it.

Instructions

  1. Put the dry onion soup mix and paprika in a big plastic bag. Put the meat in the bag and shake it to coat it with the spices. (You might have to complete that procedure in two halves so that all the meat fits.)
  2. After coating the meat, put it in a greased 7-quart crock pot and spread it out evenly.

Coated beef and vegetables before cooking

  1. Spread the diced potatoes, carrots, and onion equally over the top of the meat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup and cream of celery soup.
  3. Put the mixture on top of the meat and vegetables.
  4. Put the top on the crock pot. For 7 to 8 hours, or until the meat is done and the vegetables are soft, simmer on low heat.
  5. Mix everything together and then serve.
