Mixing ingredients for edible chocolate chip cookie dough

Instructions

  1. You need to heat up raw flour before you use it because it can hold microorganisms. Heat treating the flour will kill any unwanted things and make it safe to ingest. You want to get it to at least 165°F. It is easy to do this in two ways:
    • My favorite way is to microwave it for one minute, stirring it every 15 to 20 seconds.
    • Put the flour on a baking sheet and bake it at 350°F for 3 to 5 minutes.

Microwave the flour in 20 second intervals until it reaches 165℉ degrees, around 40-60 seconds. Alternatively, you can put the flour on a baking sheet and bake the flour in a 350 ℉ degree oven or 3-5 minutes. Wisk or sift to eliminate any lumps and let cool.
Let the flour cool for a few minutes before adding it to the dough, or it will melt the butter. You can also sift it to get rid of any lumps.

  2. In a standing mixer with a beater attachment or a large bowl with a hand-held mixer, mix the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the mixture is extremely light and fluffy.
Using a standing mixer or a large bowl with a hand held mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy.
This will also help make it less gritty. Use a spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl to make sure all the sugar and butter are blended together.
  3. Turn off the mixer and mix in the cooled all-purpose flour, vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix until everything is mixed in, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Add in flour, vanilla, salt. Add in milk 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is obtained.
  4. If it’s too dry, add a spoonful of milk at a time until it gets better. Add some additional heat-treated flour if it is too thin.
  5. Fold the chocolate chips in gently and enjoy!
Gently incorporate in the chocolate chips with a spatula or spoon. Enjoy!

Make sure to let the flour cool before adding to the cookie dough or it can melt the butter. You can also sift to get rid of any lumps.

You can also microwave the butter to make this even easier. Then, just combine all the ingredients together in a basin with a spoon, spatula, or whisk. It won’t feel precisely like regular chocolate chip cookie dough, but it’s still tasty!

This edible chocolate chip cookie dough is gritty, just like regular cookie dough. But, refrigerating the dough can assist enhance the texture by softening some of the grittiness.

This recipe makes 4 generous portions, but may easily be scaled down for a single meal, or doubled or quadrupled for a crowd!
