How to Make Strawberry Cobbler

Last week, my grocery shop had 2-pound packages of fresh strawberries for a very low price. The strawberries were enormous and a gorgeous deep red. They needed to be turned into a dessert that would show off both their color and taste.

- ( ) Juice from lemons
- ( ) Cornstarch
- ( ) Sugar that is white
- ( ) Butter (for berries)
- ( ) Flour
- ( ) Powder for baking
- ( ) Salt
- ( ) Butter that is cold
- ( ) Cream
Instructions
1. Preparing the Strawberries
We wash, shell, and cut the strawberries before we start the preparation. I cut my berries into pieces that were approximately a quarter of an inch thick. I wanted the berries to be cut thick enough that they would still look like berries when they were baked.
2. Making the Sauce

It was time to make the sauce after the berries were cut up. There are three things that make up the sauce: Juice from lemons, Cornstarch, Sugar that is white. You put these three things in a saucepan and cook them until they get thick. Put the strawberries in the pan and gently fold them in to coat them.
3. Baking Dish and Butter
I put the berries in a prepared 9-inch baking dish and added butter to the top of the berries. Then I started creating the topping. I mean, come on, how easy has this been thus far?
4. Preparing the Topping
There are six things that go into the strawberry cobbler topping: Flour, Sugar that is white, Powder for baking, Salt, Butter that is cold, Cream. Mix the dry ingredients together, then cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until you get big crumbs. Finally, stir in the cream.
5. Baking the Cobbler
Spread the crumbs over the berries and bake.
