This iced brown sugar matcha latte is going to taste great if you like matcha.
It has a creamy texture, a hint of earthiness, and the brown sugar syrup is just the right amount of sweet.
And it’s quite simple to make at home—no need for fancy barista skills!

Ingredients
- ◯ 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- ◯ 2 tablespoons of water
- ◯ 1 tsp of matcha powder
- ◯ Not boiling, 2 tablespoons of hot water
- ◯ ¾ cup of milk, either dairy or non-dairy
- ◯ Ice cubes
Equipment
- A small pot
- Whisk
- Small bowl
- Spoon
- A tall glass
- Frother or matcha whisk

Preparation Steps
1️⃣ Prepare the syrup with brown sugar
Put 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of water in a small pot over medium heat. Remove from heat and let cool after stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Stir the brown sugar syrup well so it doesn’t harden as it cools.
2️⃣ Combine the Matcha
Sift the matcha to keep your drink from getting clumpy.
Mix matcha with hot (not boiling) water to retain its pleasant taste.
Sift 1 tsp of matcha powder into a small bowl, then add 2 tbsp of hot water (not boiling). Whisk it in a zigzag pattern until it is smooth and a little foamy.

3. Put the latte together
First, put the brown sugar syrup in a tall glass. Add ice cubes to the glass, then slowly pour in ¾ cup of milk. Pour the whisked matcha over the milk slowly.
4️⃣ Mix it up and enjoy!
Stir everything together with a spoon or straw and watch the colors mix into a lovely emerald and caramel swirl. Drink and enjoy!
