Ingredients

  • Five pounds of red potatoes, cut into thin slices or cubes
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 6 pieces of bacon, cut up
  • ½ cup of butter, cut up
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Grease for dish

Instructions

  1. Set the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Put some grease on a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Put potatoes in a dish that has been greased and spread them out evenly. Spread butter on the potatoes and then sprinkle onion and bacon on top. Put foil over the dish.

  1. Put in a preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
  2. Take off the foil and mix the potatoes. Set the oven to broil and let the potatoes brown for about 5 minutes, or until they are crispy. To get an even brown, you might have to stir every minute or so.
  3. Serve right away.
