Warm, homemade cinnamon rolls with cottage cheese
Warm, homemade cinnamon rolls are great on their own, but these are much better since they contain cottage cheese in them! It makes them soft, sensitive, and just a little bit sour, which is the nicest way. They also have a lot of cinnamon-sugar deliciousness in every bite.
Don’t worry if you’ve never made cinnamon rolls from scratch before. I’ll show you how to do it step by step. And believe me, your kitchen is going to smell amazing.

Instructions
- Mix the wet ingredients together.
Blend the cottage cheese, heated milk, melted butter, sugar, egg, and salt in a blender or food processor until smooth. - Get the yeast going and make the dough.
Put the ingredients that you combined into a bowl. Mix in the instant yeast and flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for five minutes, or until the dough is smooth. - Give the dough time to rise.
Put a kitchen towel over the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm area for an hour, or until it has doubled in size. - Roll out and add the filling.
Make a 12×10-inch rectangle out of the dough. Spread the softened butter all over, then equally sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon on top.

- Roll and cut
Tightly roll the dough into a log and then cut it into 8 to 10 equal rolls. - Second Rise
Put the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover them, and let them rise for another 30 minutes. - Bake
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown. - Make the glaze and drizzle it on
Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth. Then, pour the mixture over the warm rolls.
Tips for Best Results
- ⭐ Ingredients at Room Temperature: Before you use the cottage cheese, egg, and butter, let them sit out for a while. It makes things blend better.
- ⭐ Don’t skip the kneading! It makes the dough soft and elastic. If it’s sticky, add some flour.
- ⭐ Roll it up tight, but not too tight. You want those gorgeous swirls to stay put, but don’t compress the dough.
- ⭐ Cut using dental floss: It saves your rolls from getting crushed! Just put it beneath the roll, cross it over, and pull.
- ⭐ Baking them too long will make them dry, so take them out as soon as the tops get golden brown.
Variations
- No cottage cheese? Instead, use ricotta or Greek yogurt.
- Make Them Healthier: Use whole wheat flour instead of half of the white flour and cut back on the sugar a little bit.
- Add nuts or raisins: For more texture, mix in chopped pecans or raisins into the filling.
- Maple Glaze Option: For a warm twist, use maple syrup instead of vanilla extract in the glaze.
Storing and Serving
For two days, keep it in an airtight container at room temperature. For up to five days, keep it in the fridge.
To make them soft again, heat them in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds.
